Terminal Expansion & Alterations

- Rafael Hernandez International Airport, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

| 2021 |

Looking to significantly improve the passenger’s experience and boost air service to the northwest portion of the island, the Puerto Rico Ports Authority has selected MGA to design a $10.1 million expansion and remodeling of the Rafael Hernández International Airport terminal in Aguadilla. The existing terminal is in a WWII hangar originally built for military use and extensively remodeled over the years, but which is lacking in modern amenities. The current project is expected to improve circulation, vehicular traffic, and passenger flows; as well as to provide four contact gates with state-of-the-art support infrastructure and equipment. This is in addition to and in support of a project to replace the current airport runway.
