In one of the most ambitious capital programs undertaken by the Puerto Rico Ports Authority, MGA was retained to perform all of the planning and design required to transform a previous MGA project completed in 1985 into the premier PRPA facility at LMMIA.

Over a ten year period from 1995 through 2005 and with the facilities always in operation, the single carrier 11 gate unit terminal originally designed for Eastern Airlines was altered and expanded in three phases to become a state of the art 25 gate facility servicing over 30 domestic and international airlines and a multitude of concessionaries.
